Speaker: Valentina De Renzi - Unimore and CNR Nano
Quantum Physics is often presented either through formal scientific descriptions or through popular narratives that risk obscuring the very concepts they aim to explain. Is there a middle ground that combines accessibility with scientific rigor? This seminar explores the idea of a “missing middle”: educational approaches that make the core principles of Quantum Physics and quantum technologies accessible to non-experts while preserving scientific accuracy and avoiding hype and misleading representations. Drawing on experiences from the Italian Quantum Weeks project, we will discuss how visual analogies, hands-on demonstrators, and interactive activities can help audiences engage with abstract quantum concepts and develop a more meaningful understanding of quantum phenomena and their technological applications.
