Where we are
The Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics is located in the Scientific Campus of Via Campi (University Area), adjacent to the University Hospital (Policlinico), a few kilometers from the train station.
The staff and activities of the Department are divided between two buildings, called "Physics" ( via Campi 213/A ) and "Mathematics" ( via Campi 213/B ).
You can reach Modena by plane, train or car.
1) BY PLANE : The nearest airport is Bologna airport. From there you can take the direct bus ( Aer-bus shuttle , Via Vignolese stop) or reach the Bologna train station by taxi or bus and take a train to Modena.
2) BY TRAIN : The bus connection between the train station and the department is illustrated further on.
3) BY CAR (via motorway): Exit: Modena-south. Upon exiting the toll booth, turn right and follow via Vignolese for approximately 10 km. Go past the intersection with the ring road. At the next traffic light turn right into via G. Campi. The entrance to the campus is approximately 100 m on the right.
Regular bus service:
Three lines connect the train station and the bus station to via Campi, where the Department of Physics, Informatics and Mathematics is located. The city bus stops closest to the Department are the following:
- Vignolese Campi junction for lines 2 and 4 ;
- Campi Università for line 7 ;
- Gottardi (terminus) for line 9 .
The Physics and Mathematics buildings are at the center of the campus.
Opening time
The Department is open to the public from 8 am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday, while it is closed on Saturdays and public holidays.
On working days from 8pm to 7am, the Physics and Mathematics buildings are protected by alarm.
On closing days they are protected by an alarm all day
The Department observes reduced opening hours in the months of July and August.

Department Secretariats
The Department has an Administrative Secretariat and a Teaching Secretariat located in the Physics building on the first floor, in addition to the University Student Secretariat , which can be reached next to the Mathematics building.
