The Director represents the Department and chairs the Council and the Executive Committee.
The Department Director:

• implements the resolutions of the Council and, with the collaboration of the Departmental board, promotes the activities of the Department;
• supervises compliance with the laws, the Statute and regulations;
• maintains relations with the other Departments of the University, with the academic bodies and with all other bodies at a local and academic level that promote and/or coordinate teaching, research and technological transfer.

The Director of the Department for the three-year period 2024/25, 2025/26, 2026/27 is Prof. Sergio Polidoro.
The Deputy Director is Prof. Stefano Frabboni.
