From 4 to 6 July, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia will participate with its team "HackinMore" in the final competition of the eighth edition of the CyberChallenge, which will take place in Turin at the International Training Center for the ILO (ITCILO) . CyberChallenge is the first cybersecurity training program for university and high school students organized by the Cybersecurity National Lab. The Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FIM) has signed an agreement with CINI, allowing participation in the event.
The team is composed of the students Andrea De Vietro (BSc Computer Science), Salvatore Di Lorenzo (BSc Computer Science), Samuele Carpi (BSc Computer Science), Emilio Cassanelli (BSc Computer Engineering, Modena campus), Samuele Mazzi (MSc Computer Engineering, Modena campus) and Giulio Barabino (MSc Computer Engineering, Modena campus); the instructors are Edoardo Torrini (MSc Computer Engineering, Modena campus), Lorenzo Rossi (MSc Computer Science), Riccardo Cracco (MSc Computer Science student) and Martin Menabue (PhD student at the Modena ICT School).

"The educational path began with the strict selections in February, continued with the 72-hour course in the period March-May and concluded with the local competition at the end of May (which allowed us to select the six members of the team). I thank the instructors for the splendid work done, which goes well beyond the technical side. It is thanks to them that the students were able to become a cohesive and homogeneous team. Finally, I thank the students, who demonstrated a desire to learn, tenacity in moments of difficulty and a team spirit that was truly out of the ordinary. Beyond any technical knowledge that we instructors could offer, they were the ones who put themselves on the line, who compared themselves with the other teams and who prevailed."
