Mathematics You Don't Expect - Academic Year 2024/2025

Date:
Testo avviso

Mathematics that you don't expect is a traditional event that for several years has accompanied teachers, students and scholars in general on an exciting journey into the most curious and interesting aspects of mathematics, with particular attention to the interaction between mathematics and other disciplines.

The aim of the initiative is to promote awareness of a new role for the mathematician, a leading figure in a constantly evolving society. Mathematics is pervasive in reality and must be valued, emphasizing the links with other sciences, in a multidisciplinary context of involvement and interaction between school and society.

The topics covered are innovative and allow teachers, who have the important role of supporting students in the process of deepening the basic sciences, to design educational paths in step with the times.

The initiative is part of the activities of the Scientific Degree Plan in Mathematics and is also proposed as a series of training meetings for secondary school teachers for the 2024/2025 school year, valid for the purposes of fulfilling the obligation of their in-service training.

In each case, it is specified whether the event will be held in mixed mode (in person and remotely, via the Teams platform) or only in person (for laboratory-type activities).
