The FIM Department aims to be a point of reference for schools, offering skills, resources and passion for scientific dissemination, with the aim of inspiring and training the minds of the future. Investing in the scientific education of young people is in fact a fundamental point for the social and economic development of our community. Collaborating with teachers and schools, we offer workshops, internships and conferences that stimulate the scientific curiosity of students of all levels in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and inspire them to explore the world of physics, information technology and mathematics with a broader perspective than standard school curricula.

The FIM also has a decades-long tradition of scientific dissemination and training, aimed at teachers, scholars and enthusiasts of scientific disciplines. Mathematics, physics and computer science meetings are proposed annually, such as seminars, exhibitions and laboratory activities, focused on curious and innovative themes of basic sciences. The objective is to provide the tools for a modern cultural approach in the teaching of mathematics, physics and computer science, through innovative teaching methodologies and particular attention to inclusion, promoting close collaboration between teachers and the academic world, research and technological development.
